Before anything else, watch the series on Kohanim with your students.
The goal
This activity helps students understand the different parts of the Kohanim's responsibilities. Students learn about different aspects of the Kohanim, what makes them special, and the important role they have in the Jewish people.
The activity
Divide your students into three groups. Each group researches a different aspect of the Kohanim:
Group #1 researches the role of the Kohanim in the Beis HaMikdash.
Group #2 researches the garments worn by the Kohen Gadol.
Group #3 researches the brachos that are given by the Kohanim.
Each group gets a large poster and posts the results of their research on it in a creative way. Then display the posters in front of the class. A student from each group presents their group's research.
