This lesson idea comes from a teacher in Florida. He'd been teaching our Emunah & Tefillah series for several weeks. He tried this activity with his class and told us his students loved it.
The question
After the video "Why did Hashem choose us, Part 2," present this question to your students:
Why are you in this world? Why did God make you and put you in this world?
Part 1
Give the class one full session to reflect on this question. Each student gets a blank sheet of paper and finds a quiet place in the school to answer it. By the end of the session, each student should have filled the paper with their answer.
Part 2
Post a schedule of one-on-one meetings. Each student meets with the teacher for 15 minutes to review their answer.
This is a great chance for students to reflect on a deep, fundamental question. Our busy lives rarely leave time to think about it.
