Create a class, choose its courses, invite students by email, CSV, or class code, and fix invite problems.

Your first class takes about a minute, and inviting students takes a few more.

Create a class

  1. Go to Students & grades and click New class.

  2. Type a Class name.

  3. Under Topic access, pick All courses, or pick Chosen courses and choose your topics. Students only see the courses you choose.

    Create a class pop-up
  4. Click Create class.

Invite your students

Pick your class and click Add students. Then choose how they join.

Add students pop-up with both options

By email or CSV:

  1. Click Invite your students.

  2. Type each student's first name, last name, and email. Click + Add another student for the next one. Have a list? Click Import CSV, then Download the CSV template, fill it in, and drop it back in.

  3. Click Next, check the details, and click Send invites.

With your class code:

  1. Click Share class code with your students.

  2. Click Copy link and send it. Or have students go to torahlive.com/join and type your class code. Want it on the board? Click Download printable instructions.

Kids under 13 need a parent to sign up first. Parents open your invite or link, or go to torahlive.com/join, and follow the steps. See Why do parents need to sign up first?

Approve and follow up

Pending students show in your class list, with their actions on the row:

  • Awaiting approval: they joined with your code. They can watch right away. Click Approve or Reject within a week, or the request lapses.

  • Invite pending: you emailed an invite they haven't accepted. Click Resend invite or Revoke.

  • Joined: they're in your class.

A student moved classes? Click their row, then Remove from class, and confirm. Their account and history stay, and you can invite them again anytime.

Why couldn't I invite a student?

The message tells you why:

  • "Couldn't invite": the student might already be in another class. Ask their other teacher, or chat with us.

  • "Each student needs a first name, last name and email": fill in all three for every student, then click Next.

  • "Couldn't read that file": click Download the CSV template, copy your students into it, and upload it again.
