Every student in your class needs their own email address or phone number. That's where their login code goes.
Note: This is about students in a teacher's class. Family members on a Family plan don't need an email. Parents add them right from their dashboard.
How students join your class
There are two ways:
Invite by email. Enter each student's name and email. They get an invite to activate.
Share your class code or link. Students sign up or log in, then join your class.
Either way, each student logs in with a code sent to their own email or phone. Here's more on how student access works.
Why students can't use your email
Login codes go to the inbox you type in. If a student uses your email, the code lands in your inbox, not on their screen.
No student emails? Try this
Run the lesson from your own login on the classroom screen.
Ask families to set up a free email for their child. Many schools also give students a school email.
